1. General
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the DebatePrep website and platform at debateprep.net, operated by n-ji studio Pty Ltd trading as DebatePrep (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using DebatePrep, you agree to be bound by these terms. We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. About DebatePrep
DebatePrep is an AI-powered platform that provides practice exercises for competitive debate, including rebuttal, structuring, and argument weighing. The platform generates AI feedback on user submissions to support learning and skill development.
3. Information and AI-Generated Content
DebatePrep provides general educational content and AI-generated feedback for learning purposes only. While we work to maintain the quality of AI responses:
- AI-generated feedback may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent.
- Feedback produced by DebatePrep is intended for your personal learning and skill development. You may not use it for commercial purposes.
- AI feedback is not a substitute for professional debate coaching.
- We have no obligation to guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.
4. Prohibited Acts
You must not use DebatePrep to:
- Access the platform unlawfully, fraudulently, or in a way that violates applicable laws or others' rights.
- Submit content that is offensive, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or unlawful.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, jailbreak, or manipulate the AI systems.
- Use the platform or its AI outputs to train competing AI models.
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent subscription limits.
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract content from the platform.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on debateprep.net, including software, designs, text, and graphics, is owned by or licensed to n-ji studio Pty Ltd trading as DebatePrep. You may download or print content for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Any other use requires our prior written permission.
6. User Content
When you submit debate topics, arguments, or other content through the platform, you retain ownership of that content. You grant us a limited licence to process that content for the purpose of delivering the service (including passing it to our AI provider). You are responsible for ensuring your submitted content does not infringe third-party rights.
7. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Third-Party Links
We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites linked from our platform.
9. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable consumer protections.
10. Subscriptions and Payments
Access to DebatePrep's practice features requires a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the paid period. We are not liable for failed payments or interruptions caused by your payment provider. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy govern payment processing.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from:
- Use of the platform or reliance on AI-generated feedback.
- Interruptions to or errors in the service.
- Indirect, consequential, or special loss.
Our total liability to you in connection with the platform will not exceed the amounts paid by you in the 12 months preceding the relevant claim.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, or damages arising from your breach of these terms, including any claim arising from content you submit to the platform that infringes third-party rights.
13. Users Under 18
If you are under 18 years of age, you must obtain your parent's or guardian's consent before using DebatePrep. By using the platform, you confirm that you have obtained that consent. Parents and guardians who consent on behalf of a minor accept these terms on the minor's behalf.
14. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
